Mowmaster Announces Innovative New Reel Mower

18 November 2008 - MowMaster have announced the successful trialling of an entirely new design of “walk-behind” reel mower that can handle cutting grass up to 60mm – a height unheard of for reel mowers.

Available in six sizes, the new general purpose mowers are powered by engines from Honda’s GX range and will be available from January 2009.

The Western Australian company’s new range allows users to manicure taller grasses such as fescues and buffalo, which are often grown high to keep the plant healthy and save water.

“The design came about by a need to manicure longer cut grasses with the unique reel mower finish,” said company owner David Harrison.

“Our previous range of mowers cut up to 20mm, so this is a huge advancement for us and the mower industry in general” said Mr Harrison.

“We trialled these machines over several months with contractors who work these products to the absolute extreme.”

“We fitted our first Honda engine in 1960 and it was far superior to anything we’d ever used. We have never looked back.”

MowMaster specialises in turf equipment and, like Honda, is celebrating its 60th birthday this year.

MowMaster mowers are used at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Sydney Cricket Ground and the Western Australian Cricket Ground as well as golf courses across the country.
