New Management Appointments At Honda Australia

24 November 2008 - Honda Australia is pleased to announce two new appointments to the company’s key management structure.

Vikram Pawah will become General Manager for the Power Equipment, Marine and OEM sales divisions, commencing February 1, 2009.

Working for Honda in both Australia and India for almost 15 years, he has taken on a diverse range of roles.

Vikram came to Australia to complete his MBA, working part-time as a project coordinator in Honda Power Equipment until completing his studies and taking on the role of Corporate Affairs Manager.

Over the years he gained extensive experience within various divisions including Sales Support, Logistics, Corporate Planning, Product Development and Customer Service.

Vikram plans to further strengthen Honda’s Dealer and OEM networks by ensuring that Honda is the “easiest manufacturer to deal with”.

In his new role, he is looking forward to developing relationships across a wider range of dealers and OEMs.

He also intends to further build upon Honda Power Equipment’s strong market share, as well as develop the company’s Marine division.

“People know Honda as a company with strong business ethics and quality product. We need to use this market strength as well as our extensive dealer and OEM network to continue to promote our four-stroke range as being the best in the market,” said Mr Pawah.

“I intend to keep building on the Honda brand and promote the message that our products are more environmentally sound for society in the long term.”

Victor Colcott will be stepping into Vikram’s shoes as the new General Manager of Customer Service, effective December 1.

Victor has been in the motor industry for over 30 years and began his career as a motorcycle mechanic before being employed by Honda for nearly 10 years.

After spending a number of years working for other manufacturers, Victor recently returned to Honda as Customer Service Division Manager.

During his time with the company, he has been responsible for sales and marketing of Motorcycles, Power Equipment and Marine at a state level and has extensive experience with national strategy development, OEM and parts and accessories sales.

He was also integral to the successful launch of Australia’s first production line of Honda lawnmowers, the Honda Buffalo.

A passionate motorcyclist who lives in a rural location and relies on Honda Power Equipment on a daily basis, Victor says his retail background and experience in small business has given him a deeper understanding of dealerships.

“In these testing times it’s the dealers’ customer service capability that will ensure their strong future.”

“After-sales section can be a great profit opportunity for every business.”

“We need to work hard to make sure our service matches the incredibly high standard set by the Honda brand,” said Mr Colcott.
