Final Dream Collection Edition Released

27 November, 2008 – Honda Australia have released the final collectables from the “Dream Collection” range designed to celebrate Honda’s 60th birthday.

Items available include two framed images of the legendary 1985 NSR500 and 1997 NSR500 race bikes, which are the last two in a collection of six.

With more than 100 wins to its credit, the NSR500 was the most dominant force of its time in 500cc Grand Prix motorcycle racing, made famous by Freddie Spencer in 1985 and again by Australia’s own Mick Doohan in the 1990s.

The NSR500 was first ridden to 500cc Grand Prix victory in 1985 by Spencer. He won eight of the twelve rounds in the 500cc GP and also won the 250cc title in the same year, which cemented his career as a racing legend.

Mick Doohan broke plenty of records with the NSR500, including the greatest number of back-to-back wins (22 victories, through 1997 and ’98) and the greatest number of wins in a season including 15 victories in 1997.

Doohan claimed a total of 54 500cc Grand Prix wins and remains an inspiration to many of today’s MotoGP riders.

Only 100 each of the framed images of the Honda NSR500 exist, and are available at Dealerships today (RRP $145). Each print has been professionally mounted on a quality timber silver frame, is UV protected and individually boxed.

This is the last opportunity to get hold of Dream Collection merchandise, and a piece of motorcycle history.
