Learner Permit Prerequisites

Legislation on how to obtain your motorcycle learner permit and/or motorcycle licence varies from state to state in Australia. To obtain your learners permit from HART is fantastic. It gives you the freedom from that day to ride a LAMS approved motorcycle or scooter in Victoria.

Learner Permit Courses

HART offers one day and two day Learner Permit courses and testing.  The two day course has been designed for students who have never ridden before, whilst the one day course requires that students are familiar with motorcycle riding skills and techniques.

Learners to Licence

This three session course is designed for students who have attained their motorcycle learner permit and is designed to introduce skills and topics that go above and beyond the Vic Roads' Learner Permit requirements including more road-related riding exercises and Hazard Perception training.
(Please note Learner Permit and Licence testing is undertaken in separate courses.)

Practice Session

Need to brush up on your skills and have some practice time? Practice sessions of one and a half hours duration are available to all students once they have completed that level of training.

Victorian Riding Simulator

Just New to Riding? Want to develop your Road Skills safely? HART has training sessions available using the Riding Simulator. Ideal for the new rider, develop your lane positioning and hazard perception skills using the Simulator.

Licence Courses

This course has been designed specifically for those who already have their Motorcycle Learner Permit and wish to gain their Motorcycle licence. The course runs over one day and covers practical skills and testing as well as the Motorcycle licence Test.

Refresher Course

Whether you’ve been away from bikes for two months or ten years, it takes time and practice to feel comfortable and confident once you get back on a motorcycle. HART recognises this fact, and has also taken note of the increasing number of returning riders represented in the crash statistics over the last few years.

Intermediate

This course has been designed specifically for those who already ride a motorcycle and want to enjoy riding a motorcycle even more. This course is also suitable for those returning to riding or wanting to move onto a larger capacity motorcycle.

Advanced I

The Advanced I course is structured to enhance and refine the skills of a licensed rider who is confident and continually practising their riding skills (for confident riders).  This is a progressive course in the sense that a student must first complete Advanced I to be eligible for the Advanced II course.

Advanced II

HART is now running our “Top Of The Range” Advanced II Rider Training Course. To be eligible for this course you must have successfully completed either Intermediate or Advanced I training with HART.

Advanced II is without a doubt, one of the most sought after courses that we offer. This high level riding course will sharpen your everyday riding skills and get your brain into gear by establishing skills and concepts involved with superior motorcycle handling and control techniques.
