HART offers one day and two day Learner Permit courses and testing. The two day course has been designed for students who have never ridden before, whilst the one day course requires that students are familiar with motorcycle riding skills and techniques.
One day Learner Permit Course and Testing
(For those who have ridden a motorcycle)
This one day, six hour, Learner Permit course is for people that have ridden a motorcycle and are familiar with changing gears and the use of a clutch. The course covers differences in riding techniques, including familiarisation with road riding skills in a practical and theoretical way.
Exercises such as braking and slow riding are practiced as well as cornering and eye direction, all aimed at introducing the rider to the essentials of skilled and safe road riding. Skill assessment and Knowledge tests are conducted near the end of the course.
The course fee is inclusive of testing for the Victorian Motorcycle Learner Permit, Permit issue fee, use of motorcycle, helmet, gloves and wet weather gear during the course. There are no hidden extra costs! The motorcycles provided for you to use on these courses are a Honda CB250, or upon request a Honda scooter or Honda CT110.
HART centres operate year round with courses beginning at 8:30am and finishing at 4.00pm. HART now offers one same day retest included in your course fee.
Two day Learner Permit Course and Testing
The second day is a recap of skills learner on the first day followed by the Learner Permit Skill Assessment and Knowledge tests. Included in this course is an extensive Roadcraft theory session, covering road riding skills and techniques, protective clothing, maintenance, cornering, and dealing with emergency situations.
The course fee is inclusive of testing for the Victorian Motorcycle Learner Permit, Permit issue fee, use of helmet, gloves and wet weather gear during the course. There are no hidden extra costs. The motorcycles provided for you to use on these courses are a Honda CB250, or upon request a Honda scooter or Honda CT110.
